WHY TEAK?Basic Philosophy related to teak trees can be found in several myths and beliefs related to teak trees. Teak trees are part of the cultural heritage and beliefs of the people that reflect the values and worldviews of the people that preserve cultural and spiritual riches. Here are some examples: Teak as Guardian of Safety; Sacred Tree; The Myth of Human Origins; Teak as a Symbol of Strength and Awakening; Teak in Mythology and Legend; The Myth of Teak Twins; Teak as a Healing Tree; Teak as the Tree of Life.Basic Ecology Teak trees have strong and sturdy tree trunks and roots. This turned out to be useful or beneficial in preventing floods and landslides which usually occur during the rainy season. Teak tree roots will absorb water in large quantities. Moreover, the oxygen content produced by one mature teak tree (> 6 years) is around 1.17 kg/day or 427 kg/year. Meanwhile, carbon absorption from 6.9 hectares of teak forest plantations can reach 215.58 tons.Basic Economic as history has explained the fact that teak forest management has even existed since the Majapahit kingdom, until the VOC and the Netherlands also took advantage of the economic benefits of teak forests. Use in everyday life mainly as building materials, plow tools, carving, furniture and so forth. Until now, the teak industry is one of the industries that does not stop and is even growing in the world. Likewise for the future, the economical function of Teak Wood will always be the prima donna in the premium wood industry.
